Pro-Palestinian Protest vs The Guardian

There has been plenty of debate about coverage of the Israel-Hamas war following the atrocities of October 7, 2023. I’ve been deeply critical of the BBC and others. Whatever one’s view, The Guardian would seem to be an unlikely target for pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel action. Yet that is exactly what took place this week.

Three Years of The Addition

In February 2022, I announced that I was going solo after three great years at The Mac Observer. (Big love to all those guys still.) It was there that I really started to write about streaming, although I’d previously covered the media.

Much as I miss the TMO crew, running The Addition these last three years has been a great, tough, enjoyable experience. So, if you’ll indulge me, I thought I’d belatedly share a few thoughts on what I’ve picked up during this time.

From the Podcast

This week, you can not one but two episodes! TV producer and author Rob Burley joined the show to discuss how part of his study of political interviews became the two-part drama "Brian and Maggie", which aired on Channel 4. He also explains why the form he worked on for so long still matters and debates whether YouTube and podcasts can fill the space traditional outlets have seemingly abandoned.
