Mehdi Hassan's new project, Zeteo, is already making waves. Mayor of London Sadiq Kahn had to apologise to Britain's Chief Rabbi for comments he made when talking to the former MSNBC host. Gary Lineker's recent appearance also raised some eyebrows. The BBC hasn't had much to say on whether his comments about the war in Gaza are in keeping with the social media guidelines written for the former footballer. Euro 2024 starts on June 14, with Lineker set to lead Aunty's coverage. Up For Debate...

On this week's podcast, I spoke to the New York Times media reporter Ben Mullin about NPR and the outburst from its former producer Uri Berliner. As I understand it, Berliner's colleagues were somewhat shocked when his essay was released by The Free Press. There are now concerns about him being dragged into the right-wing media ecosystem in the US. Worth keeping an eye on what podcasts he pops up on. There is... uhum... febrile speculation in the UK today that prime minister Rishi Sunak will...

For this month's "Lessons from the creator economy" column for Media Voices I interviewed Sophia Smith Galer. It was a fascinating conversation with a very modern media operator. Read it here. "Fallout" is looking like a hit for Prime Video [Image via Amazon Prime Video] Although there are undoubtedly issues as studios have tightened their belts, streaming has also provided film and TV creators with greater opportunities to get their work out there. Yet all too often we are seeing...
