July 7 Bombings – How Journalists Responded

The morning of July 7, 2005, was one of joy in London. The city had been awarded the 2012 Olympics less than 24 hours before the first three bombs detonated close to Aldgate, Edgware Road and Russell Square tube stations at about 8.50am.

I was at school on a road that has both a big hospital on it and provides a clear route into central London. I remember hearing the ambulances heading towards the victims. We watched the news on the TV in the music department. It was the only one that could show live TV – no streaming on phones back then.

Taylor vs Serrano 3, ITV and Disney+ – Streaming Goes Back to The Future

On Friday night/Saturday morning Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano will complete their epic trilogy. They are headlining the first all-female boxing card at Madison Square Garden. It’s a huge moment in the sport and a huge moment in streaming - it’s all going to be shown live on Netflix.

The pair did battle on Netflix last time, too, ahead of Jake Paul and Mike Tyson’s sham fight. This time, it’s ladies' night. All eyes will be on them, and the streamer has taken a huge swing in broadcasting such a significant event. Can it show proper live sport without things crashing?
