Stephen Colbert, and Why Brits Don’t do Late Night TVJames Corden and Taylor Tomlinson are gone. Stephen Colbert will be out the door in May next year, after CBS decided not to renew his contract and end the show entirely. The network said it made “purely a financial decision”. This has been a huge media story in the US. Every rival host chimed in, with a theory circling that the decision was made for political, not financial reasons. (Parent company Paramount requires approval for a merger and has been involved in a legal bust-up with President Trump over another show, 60 Minutes.) And yet there is a serious discussion to be had about the death of Late Night.
WSL TV Times Get ShakeupWSL TV times set for a shakeup in the upcoming 2025/26 season, Tom Garry at The Guardian reported. Most fixtures are going to be moved to kick-off at midday on Sunday. Traditionally, the majority of WSL matches have been scheduled for 2pm on Sunday afternoons but there is believed to be a desire to switch most live games to midday to create a regular slot and develop an “around the grounds” narrative during matches, akin to the feel of a Saturday 3pm fixture list in English men’s football. This seems a good move, given how popular shows like Soccer Saturday are. There may be more games on Friday evenings, too, per the article.
